Now club secretary Eric Drysdale and owner John Nelms will face the league disciplinary process and explain why the park is in such a poor state. They’re due to face a disciplinary hearing next week over alleged breaches to the league rules leading to the call-offs. Secretary Drysdale blamed CLIMATE CHANGE as a cause – claiming there had been an abnormally large rainfall this year compared to the ten-year average worked out by the club. But he admitted they could face sanctions depending on the outcome of the disciplinary process which is set to conclude next week. He said: “The club is subject to disciplinary action because of this situation. “That’s unfortunately five postponements we’ve had this season and that process goes ahead next week. “We will deal with that and respond accordingly after the verdict is known.” Rangers sent a RAGING statement after Don Robertson pulled the plug for a second time on Wednesday afternoon. He had initially called off the first scheduled date on March 17 but gave the pitch a tentative thumbs up after an initial inspection on Wednesday morning. Further rainfall led to another call-off though and a furious reaction from the visiting team. Though Dens Park wasn’t fit for football three miles along the road a Dundee AMATEUR match got the go ahead, with Tayside Fire Brigade AFC poking fun at their senior neighbours’ sorry situation. If Wednesday’s re-arranged date DOESN’T get the go-ahead, the league has confirmed alternative venues will be considered.
