Simunovic, who spent five years at Celtic Park until 2020 and won 11 trophies, including an unbeaten Treble in 2017, enjoyed meeting up with former coach John Kennedy and ex-team-mate Callum McGregor. And he also met with Rodgers during Celtic’s brief stay in Zagreb to pick his brain for guidance. Simunovic said: “He’s always been great for me personally and for the team, too. “One day, yes, I’d like to be a manager. “I had good coaches, so I could learn a lot. That gives me hope.” Simunovic was impressed with the Hoops in Zagreb and is tipping skipper McGregor to lead them to success over Rangers in Sunday’s Premier Sports Cup final. The former Croatia Under-21 cap, who also enjoyed an invincible season at Dinamo, said: “I think they are in very good shape and stable. They are doing good in the league as well. “Callum is the engine of the team and he is unbelievable. His attitude, everything about him is top level. “I laughed with him because ten years ago, I have seen the photo, he looked really, really young. “He had just started playing first-team football, so I’m really glad for him. “From every good player, you can take something good and show your players, to try to show them to be better. “I think Celtic will win on Sunday if they play the way they did in Zagreb and in the last couple of months. “Look, Celtic sets the standard, so they just need to keep going. “It reminds me of Celtic when I used to be there, especially that season when we were unbeaten, so I am looking forward to it. “Of course, against Rangers it is always a tough game, but I really trust these guys and this group.” Kenny Ramsay - The Sun GlasgowThe pair worked together at Parkhead[/caption] Keep up to date with ALL the latest news and transfers at the Scottish Sun football page
